What is Aquatic Therapy (Hydrotherapy)?

Aquatic therapy, also known as hydrotherapy, is a highly effective, one-on-one treatment conducted in our warm, therapeutic pool at the Kenaston location. This gentle approach complements traditional rehabilitation methods by using the water's buoyancy to:

  • Reduce stress on joints, allowing for easier movement.

  • Improve mobility and strength with less pain.

  • Aid in recovery from injuries and chronic conditions.

It's also beneficial for:

  • Enhancing motor skills in infants and toddlers.

  • Supporting children with autism, cerebral palsy, and developmental delays.

Each customized session is 30 minutes, designed to be safe and relaxing. You do not need to know how to swim to participate, as Sophy will guide you every step of the way.

Who Can Benefit from Aquatic Therapy?

Aqua Therapy is for everyone, regardless of age or swimming ability! From infants to seniors, Sophy customizes each session entirely to your individual needs and goals. Before your first session, Sophy will discuss your specific condition and what you hope to achieve, creating a personalized treatment plan just for you. You are in good hands.

What to Bring to Your Session:

For a comfortable and relaxing experience, please bring:

  • A swimsuit OR swim trunks and a synthetic rash guard. Cotton t-shirts are not allowed in the pool.

  • A change of clothes for after your treatment.

  • A towel.

  • Pool shoes (if you have any balance concerns).

Just bring yourself; Sophy will guide you through the session.
