What is the difference between Aqua Essence Swim Academy and other swimming programs?
Our class sizes; our amazing instructors and our emphasis on teaching kids to swim!
Do we do make-up classes?
Unfortunately, we don't do make-up classes. Our teachers don't all teach everyday and we would never get around to making up all the classes.
What forms of payment do you accept?
At this time we accept cash, cheque or e-mail money transfers.
My child is little, how will the teacher be able to teach more than 1 child?
For levels under level 4 we only have 2 kids in a class for this reason. It is our philosophy that the teacher only has 2 hands so we want to maximize safety and teaching time. We use 2 flutter boards like an airplane to help teach kids to swim. The teachers are all very competent and comfortable so it is not a problem.
What if my child is sick last minute, who do we call?
If you can't make it last minute please call 294-7078 or e-mail rishona@aquaessence.ca - we will get the message!
Why do we need to pay public admission?
The pool allows us to operate our program out of their facilities but only during public swim time. They don't know who is there for lessons and is just there to swim. Therefore, we all have to pay public admission, even us as the teachers.
When will my child get a sticker or badge?
Our program is designed in such a way that we teach your child from where they are not. The teacher will work with your child to give them the confidence and skills they need to improve. With every improvement, their teacher will keep pushing them so that they can move on naturally as they progress. Throughout the full year of swimming we give out 4 written reports. In December, April and June we hand out the Red Cross Progress Booklets - the teacher will check off all the skills your child has completed in their time together.
Which Programs do you teach?
We are authorized providers of both the Canadian Red Cross program and Lifesaving Society.

Can I pay my teacher instead of mailing in my payment?
Yes, but we ask that place it in an envelope and or a little ziplock with your name on the envelope.
